Laila Shahzada was a highly respected and internationally renowned artist. She gained recognition with exhibitions around the world including London, Paris, Tokyo, New York, and Monte Carlo.
Born in Littlehampton, England to British and Indian parents, she was raised in Jamnagar, India, and later moved to Karachi, Pakistan, where she started her career. Her multicultural background shows strongly in her work, as do themes of the past and the human condition.
Her honors include the Pride of Performance, Pakistan's highest civil award by the government, and the Key to the City of New York. She was also featured on a postage stamp.
