"Several of her paintings are as impressive as a Gaugin or Van Gogh; others as subtle and beautiful as a Titian or Raphael. Her paintings of the human form are fluid and graceful, and appeal to the senses and emotions. Many of them are reminiscent of Egyptian wall-paintings.
Refreshingly, not one canvas depicting still life appears in this exhibition. Such a subject would be far too conventional for an artist of Laila Shahzada's temperament. She sets out to trigger off deep-felt emotions, and she succeeds with remarkable aplomb. Her very versatility makes an impact. Only Laila could paint a piece of driftwood, make it a tortured object blazing with color, and label it 'Frenzy'."
